Who we are
Crunchy Ads is a freelance marketing consultancy operated by Piotr Maryanski, based in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, United Kingdom. This website is crunchyads.co.uk.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Crunchy Ads is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or about how your information is handled, contact contact@crunchyads.co.uk.
What information is collected
Information you give directly. When you submit an enquiry form, book a call, message on WhatsApp or email, the following may be collected: your name, email address, telephone number, business or website name, and any other details you choose to include, such as your monthly revenue or advertising spend.
Information collected through advertising forms. If you complete a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes on the details you submitted, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, website and answers to the questions asked in that form.
Information collected automatically. When you visit this website, information about your visit may be collected, including pages viewed, the approximate location implied by your IP address, the device and browser used, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with it.
How the information is used
- To reply to your enquiry and to prepare and deliver anything you have asked for, such as an audit or a call
- To provide services if you go on to become a client, and to send invoices
- To send marketing emails, where you have agreed to receive them
- To measure how advertising and the website are performing, and to improve both
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
Legal basis for processing
Personal information is processed on the following bases under UK GDPR:
- Consent – for marketing emails and for non-essential cookies and advertising tracking. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Legitimate interests – to respond to enquiries and to run and improve a small business, where this does not override your rights.
- Contract – to deliver services that have been agreed with you.
- Legal obligation – to keep financial records for the periods required by law.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function. Others are used for analytics and advertising, including the Meta pixel and Google Analytics, which help measure how visitors find and use the site and how advertising performs.
Non-essential cookies are only used where you have given consent. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Who your information is shared with
Personal information is never sold. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run the business, which act as data processors:
- Meta Platforms – advertising, lead forms and measurement
- Google – website analytics
- Calendly – call booking
- WhatsApp – messaging, where you choose to use it
- Website hosting and email providers – storing and transmitting data
- An accountant – where required for financial records
Information may also be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so.
International transfers
Some of the providers listed above are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or by the provider’s certification under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long information is kept
Enquiry details are kept for up to two years from the last contact, unless you become a client or ask for them to be deleted sooner. Client records and financial documents are kept for six years, as required for tax purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information is held about you and receive a copy
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask for your information to be deleted
- Ask for processing to be restricted
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from marketing emails
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@crunchyads.co.uk. There is no charge, and a response will be provided within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, please get in touch so it can be put right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
